Abstract

La invención se refiere a un método para la producción de hidrógeno que comienza a partir de una alimentación de hidrocarburo, que comprende los siguientes pasos: hacer reaccionar dicha alimentación de hidrocarburo agregada con una corriente de recirculación comprimida con vapor de agua, para obtener una corriente de gas que comprende hidrógeno, monóxido de carbono y dióxido de carbono (gas de síntesis); hacer reaccionar monóxido de carbono, de la corriente de gas del paso previo, con vapor de agua, para obtener una corriente de gas enriquecida con hidrógeno y dióxido de carbono; separar el hidrógeno de dicha corriente de gas enriquecida para obtener una corriente de producto de hidrógeno y una corriente de recirculación; comprimir dicha corriente de recirculación para obtener una corriente de recirculación comprimida; mezclar dicha corriente de recirculación comprimida con la citada alimentación de hidrocarburo; donde, adicionalmente, el método comprende: proporcionar calor a dicho paso de hacer reaccionar dicha alimentación de hidrocarburo con vapor de agua, donde dicho calor se obtiene mediante fuentes accionadas por energía eléctrica; y, en forma alternativa, eliminar el CO₂ de dicha corriente de gas enriquecida con hidrógeno y dióxido de carbono, antes de separar el hidrógeno; o eliminar el CO₂ de dicha corriente de recirculación comprimida, antes de mezclar con la citada alimentación de hidrocarburo; o eliminar el CO₂ tanto de dicha corriente de gas enriquecida con hidrógeno y dióxido de carbono, antes de separar hidrógeno, como de dicha corriente de recirculación comprimida, antes de mezclar con la citada alimentación de hidrocarburo. La invención se refiere, adicionalmente, a una planta para la producción de hidrógeno que comienza a partir de una alimentación de hidrocarburo, que comprende un reformador de vapor accionado con energía eléctrica y al menos un sistema de captura de CO₂, dispuesto aguas abajo de dicho reformador de vapor accionado con energía eléctrica.
