Abstract
Se divulga un método y sistema para destilar alcohol en un proceso de producción de alcohol. El método puede incluir fermentar una mezcla de agua y grano molido para producir cerveza cargada con alcohol, que se puede destilar en una columna de cerveza mantenida a presión sub-atmosférica para producir un vapor, que principalmente incluye alcohol, y solubles completos. Los solubles finos se separan de los solubles completos. El agua se evapora de los solubles finos para producir solubles finos del primer concentrado y al menos una porción del vapor de agua del primer efecto. El agua de los solubles finos del primer concentrado se evapora con calor del vapor de agua del primer efecto para producir solubles finos del segundo concentrado y vapor de agua del segundo efecto. El agua se evapora de los solubles finos del segundo concentrado con calor del vapor de agua del segundo efecto a vapor de agua del tercer efecto. Al menos una porción del vapor de agua del tercer efecto se emplea para suministrar suficiente calor a la columna de cerveza para destilar la cerveza cargada con alcohol.
