Abstract
Se trata la solución salina de litio con un sistema de membrana de nanofiltración de múltiples pasos. Se agrega sulfato al permeado desde un paso corriente arriba antes de que fluya a través de un paso corriente abajo. Opcionalmente se puede agregar el sulfato al permeado al dosificarlo con ácido sulfúrico o una sal tal como sulfato de sodio. La solución salina suavizada luego se puede procesar adicionalmente, por ejemplo mediante una combinación de extracción de solvente, electrólisis, cristalización y secado, para producir un producto de hidróxido de litio que se puede utilizar para elaborar baterías.
