Abstract
Un método (10) para el procesamiento de salmueras que contiene litio, comprendiendo el método las etapas de: (i) hacer pasar una salmuera que contiene litio (12) a una etapa de filtración (14) para eliminar sulfatos; (ii) hacer pasar un producto (16) de la etapa (i) a una primera etapa de intercambio iónico (18) para eliminar las impurezas divalentes; (iii) hacer pasar un producto (20) de la etapa (ii) a una segunda etapa de intercambio iónico (22) para eliminar las impurezas de borro; (iv) hacer pasar un producto (24) de la etapa (iii) a una etapa de electrólisis (26) para producir hidróxido de litio (28); y (v) hacer pasar un producto (30) de la etapa (iv) a una etapa de cristalización (32) que a su vez proporciona un producto de hidróxido de litio monohidrato (34).
