Abstract
Un sistema y un método para sensar la profundidad de surcos agrícolas que incluye una fuente de luz, un receptor y un sensor. La fuente de luz dirige la luz hacia abajo en dirección a un surco previamente abierto en la superficie del suelo. El receptor está dispuesto en ángulo con relación a la fuente de luz, para recibir la luz reflejada. Un sensor conectado al receptor detecta un patrón de luz reflejada. Un sistema de monitoreo en comunicación con el sensor genera un marco de datos que contiene coordenadas de líneas trianguladas y valores de intensidad de la luz reflejada que indican una medida de la profundidad del surco. El marco de datos generado se puede asociar con coordenadas del GPS para generar mapas espaciales y se puede usar para controlar parámetros operativos. Los marcos de datos generados también pueden identificar la humedad relativa del suelo respecto a la profundidad del surco, o la presencia de material seco de la capa superficial del suelo o de residuos en el surco, o para identificar semillas, su separación y la profundidad de las semillas.
