Abstract
La presente tecnología proporciona un método que incluye poner en contacto una composición con una solución cáustica para producir una composición tratada con agente cáustico; combinando la composición tratada con agente cáustico con partículas de sílice para producir una solución pastosa; y eliminar las partículas de sílice de la suspensión pastosa para producir una composición tratada; donde la composición incluye una o más entre grasas animales, aceites animales, grasas de plantas, aceites de plantas, grasas vegetales, aceites vegetales, lubricantes y aceite de cocina usado y la composición incluye: al menos aproximadamente10 ppm en peso de metales totales, al menos aproximadamente 8 ppm en peso de fósforo, al menos aproximadamente 10 ppm en peso de cloro, al menos aproximadamente 10 ppm en peso de azufre, al menos aproximadamente 20 ppm en peso de nitrógeno, al menos aproximadamente el 5% en peso de ácidos grasos libres; y tiene un índice de acidez de aproximadamente 10 mg KOH/g a aproximadamente 150 mg KOH/g, y las partículas de sílice tienen un tamaño de partícula de aproximadamente 10 mm a aproximadamente 50 mm, un área de superficie BET de aproximadamente 200 m²/g a aproximadamente 1000 m²/g.
