Abstract

La presente solicitud se refiere a una solución acuosa de alcanolamina que muestra baja volatilidad y comprende 2-dimetilamino-2-hidroximetil-1,3-propandiol útil para eliminar gases ácidos de mezclas gaseosas. Dicha solución acuosa de alcanolamina puede comprender además uno o más de un ácido o compuesto formador de ácido, otro compuesto amino, un activador, un solvente físico, o uno o más de otros compuestos usados en las prácticas de tratamiento de gas-líquido. Además, la presente se refiere a un proceso para eliminar gases de una mezcla gaseosa, con preferencia sulfuro de hidrógeno, que comprende el paso de poner en contacto la mezcla gaseosa con dicha solución acuosa de alcanolamina. Los ejemplos de mezclas gaseosas incluyen gas natural, gas de síntesis, gas de cola y gas de refinería.
