Abstract
La presente invención se relaciona con una solución acuosa de alcanolamina que demuestra baja volatilidad, que comprende 2-di-metilamino-2-hidroximetil-1, 3-propanodiol útil para remover gases ácidos de mezclas gaseosas. Tal solución acuosa de alcanolamina además puede comprender uno o más de un compuesto de formación de ácido, otro compuesto de amino, un activador, un solvente físico, o uno o más de otros compuestos usados en las prácticas de tratamiento de gas- líquido. Además, la presente invención se relaciona con un proceso para remover gases ácidos de una mezcla gaseosa, de preferencia sulfuro de hidrógeno, que comprende la etapa de poner en contacto la mezcla gaseosa con tal solución acuosa de alcanolamina. Ejemplos de las mezclas gaseosas incluyen gas natural, gas de síntesis, gas de cola y gas de refinería.
