Abstract
La presente se refiere a un proceso para la preparación de carbonato de glicerol a partir de la reacción del glicerol y un carbonato de dialquilo, por ejemplo, carbonato de dimetilo, o un carbonato de alquileno cíclico. Más específicamente se refiere a un proceso en donde la síntesis del carbonato de glicerol se lleva a cabo en presencia de un catalizador homogéneo de transesterificación e implica la reacción parcial de una corriente de reactivo de glicerol y una corriente de reactivo de carbonato de dialquilo o carbonato de alquileno cíclico, y un paso intermedio de separación del producto secundario de alcohol antes de la reacción posterior a fin de mejorar la conversión del glicerol y el rendimiento y la selectividad del carbonato de glicerol.
