Abstract

Proceso para propagar levaduras de manera aeróbica, donde la levadura se cultiva en un reactor, que comprende los siguientes pasos: a) llenar el reactor con una fuente de carbono y una población inicial de la levadura; b) opcionalmente, cultivar la población inicial de la levadura en el reactor operado en una modalidad por lotes; c) determinar el pH en el reactor; d) colocar un hidrolizado lignocelulósico en el reactor operado en una modalidad de introducción intermitente de lotes, en una cantidad apropiada para alcanzar el pH deseado; y e) aislar la levadura del reactor una vez que se ha propagado en una medida suficiente. Levadura propagada de acuerdo con el proceso que se ha descripto. Proceso para obtener un producto de la fermentación, que comprende hacer fermentar de manera anaeróbica una mezcla de azúcares hexosas y pentosas con una levadura propagada como se describió con anterioridad.
