Abstract
La presente se refiere al uso de nanocarbono (nanotubos de carbono y/o nanofibras de carbono) en la preparación de caucho natural reforzado. Un objetivo consiste en proporcionar un modo simple de dispersar nanocarbono en caucho de modo de obtener buenas propiedades físicas y mecánicas, tales como dureza, módulo y/o resistencia a la tracción. A fin de lograr estos objetivos, la presente proporciona una composición de caucho natural que comprende 5 partes por cien de caucho (pphr) o menos de nanocarbono, donde el nanocarbono no ha sido sometido a un tratamiento con ácido antes de la incorporación en la composición de caucho. Adicionalmente, proporciona además un método para preparar una composición de caucho natural que comprende nanocarbono, donde el método comprende los pasos de: (i) proporcionar una dispersión de nanocarbono en un medio acuoso, y (ii) combinar la dispersión de nanocarbono con un látex de caucho natural; y donde el nanocarbono no es sometido a un tratamiento con ácido antes de la incorporación en la composición de caucho y la composición de caucho natural comprende 5 pphr o menos de nanocarbono.
