Abstract
Un apilamiento de celdas de combustible comprende una pluralidad de celdas de combustible en una pila, la pila define dos caras finales paralelas opuestas. Un montaje de placa final se proporciona en cada cara final opuesta de la pila. Los montajes de placa final se acoplan juntos para así mantener las celdas de combustible en la pila bajo compresión. Por lo menos uno, y preferentemente dos, de los montajes de placa final comprenden: una placa maestra que define una cara de compresión maestra; una placa esclava que define una cara de compresión esclava, la cara de compresión esclava mira hacia la cara de compresión maestra y está en relación de compresión con ella; y una interfaz plástica o viscoplástica dispuesta entre la cara de compresión maestra y la cara de compresión esclava. La interfaz plástica o viscoplástica puede estar limitada mediante una estructura de contención que se extiende a lo largo de un borde periférico de la interfaz.
