Abstract

Reivindicación 1: Un método de tratamiento de esquejes, caracterizado porque comprende: (a) aplicar a esquejes un recubrimiento de un alginato, que opcionalmente contiene uno o más agentes de protección del cultivo seleccionados del grupo que consiste en insecticidas, nematicidas o fungicidas y/o uno o más nutrientes; y (b) aplicar a los esquejes un recubrimiento de un ión metal divalente, reticulando de ese modo el alginato con el ión metal divalente. Reivindicación 4: El método de la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque dicha solución de ión metal divalente comprende una solución acuosa de una sal de metal divalente. Reivindicación 5: El método de la reivindicación 4, caracterizado porque dicha sal de metal divalente es una sal de calcio. Reivindicación 9: El método de la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque el agente de protección de cultivos se selecciona del grupo que consiste en Eternal®, Furadan 350 SC y Capture 400EC. Reivindicación 10: El método de la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque los nutrientes son micronutrientes. Reivindicación 16: Una composición de película usada en el tratamiento de esquejes de caña de azúcar, caracterizada porque comprende: (a) una solución de sal de alginato; y (b) una solución de sal de calcio, formando de ese modo un hidrocoloide de alginato de calcio. Reivindicación 23: Un sistema para mejorar el rendimiento operacional en el cultivo de caña de azúcar caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de (a) cosechar cultivos de caña de azúcar, (b) emplear una cosechadora para producir esquejes de tamaños adecuados, (c) tratar dichos esquejes con una composición de alginato y (d) depositar los esquejes tratados en el surco. Reivindicación 26: El sistema de acuerdo con la reivindicación 23, caracterizado porque la composición de alginato usada en el tratamiento de esquejes de caña de azúcar comprende: (a) una solución de sal de alginato; y (b) una solución de sal de calcio.
