Abstract
Un aparato para codificar una señal de audio que tiene una pluralidad de canales, que comprende un mezclador en forma descendente (1010) para mezclar en forma descendente una pluralidad de canales para obtener una señal mezclada en forma descendente; un calculador de señal residual (1020) adaptado para calcular una señal residual; un calculador de información de fase (1030) adaptado para calcular información sobre una diferencia de fase entre la señal mezclada en forma descendente y la residual para obtener información de fase; y un generador de salida (1040) para entregar como salida la información de fase. El presente también comprende un método para codificar una señal de audio que tiene una pluralidad de canales, que comprende: mezclar en forma descendente la pluralidad de canales para obtener una señal de mezcla descendente; calcular una señal residual; calcular información sobre una diferencia de fase entre la señal de mezcla descendente y la señal residual para obtener información de fase; y entregar como salida la información de fase.
