Abstract

Un proceso de concentración de una suspensión acuosa de partículas sólidas, que comprende las etapas de introducir la suspensión acuosa de partículas sólidas en un recipiente, añadir al menos un floculante polimérico orgánico a la suspensión acuosa de partículas sólidas formando así sólidos floculados, dejar sedimentar los sólidos floculados para formar una zona de compresión, que comprende un lecho de sólidos sedimentados en suspensión al extremo inferior del recipiente, fluir los sólidos sedimentados del recipiente as una corriente de desbordamiento, en donde una cantidad efectiva de energía ultrasónica se aplica a: a) el lecho de sólidos en la zona de compresión; b) los sólidos sedimentados en la corriente de desbordamiento; o c) una corriente de reciclado que contiene sólidos sedimentados tomada de la corriente de desbordamiento o la zona de compresión que luego se recicla al recipiente.
