Abstract

In one example, a method comprises dividing a formation stream rich in H₂ into a first portion rich in H₂ and a second portion rich in H₂. The second portion rich in H₂ has a lower mass flow rate than the first portion rich in H₂. The renewable raw material is deoxygenated in the presence of the first H rica-rich portion under effective hydrotreatment conditions to form an effluent from the deoxygenation reaction zone containing normal paraffins. At least one portion of the effluent from the deoxygenation reaction zone is isomerized in the presence of the second H rica-rich portion under effective isomerization conditions to form an effluent from the isomerization reaction zone containing branched paraffin. Isomerization conditions include a first hydrogen partial pressure of manometric 4,140 kPa or less.
