Abstract
Se describe un tensor que puede ser parte componente de un sistema de transmisión de potencia, en el cual el tensor provee tensión a un elemento de transmisión de potencia sinfín, tal como una correa, cadena u otro bucle continuo. El tensor tiene un brazo que está montado en forma giratoria alrededor de un primer eje y comprende un cubo de brazo que tiene una hendidura que se extiende a través de éste, presentando el buje un resalto y estando posicionado en forma adyacente al cubo de brazo con el resalto alojado en la hendidura del cubo de brazo, y un resorte acoplado al brazo que urge al brazo a girar alrededor de un primer eje en relación de acoplamiento de tensado con el elemento de transmisión de potencia. El resorte está posicionado de manera que pueda expandirse radialmente haciendo contacto con el resalto del buje a medida que el brazo es girado en una dirección opuesta a la dirección de acoplamiento de tensado de manera que el buje sea urgido radialmente hacia afuera en relación con el cubo de brazo para proveer amortiguación por fricción.
