Abstract
Se proveen métodos para el tratamiento de una cefalea de un individuo con un par de dispositivos intraaurales prostéticos. Los métodos incluyen insertar uno de los dispositivos intraaurales en cada canal auditivo de la persona. Más tarde, la persona puede remover el dispositivo intraaural de cada canal auditivo. Cada uno de los dispositivos intraaurales tiene una forma predefinida que se conforma substancialmente a cada canal auditivo, y es hueco en su interior para permitir oír, pero es suficientemente rígido para mantener su forma una vez que se inserta en el canal auditivo. El dispositivo intraaural puede ser insertado al comienzo, o antes, de los síntomas de una cefalea, y puede permanecer insertado hasta que la cefalea se torna menos grave, se calma o en cualquier otro momento. Para las migrañas u otras cefaleas crónicas, los dispositivos intraaurales pueden ser usados para reducir por lo menos uno de la frecuencia, la gravedad y/o la duración de las cefaleas migrañosas.
