Abstract

Composiciones de ARN bicatenarios y plantas transgénicas capaces de inhibir la expresión de genes de plantas y métodos asociados con ello. Específicamente, uso de interferencia de ARN para inhibir la expresión de un polinucleótido de esterol C-14 reductasa de planta, y generación de plantas que tienen una mayor resistencia a nematodos parásitos.Reivindicación 1: Un vector de expresión aislado caracterizado porque codifica un ARN bicatenario que comprende una primera cadena y una segunda cadena complementaria a la primera cadena, en donde la primera cadena es sustancialmente idéntica a al menos 19, 20 ó 21 nucleótidos consecutivos de un polinucleótido blanco de planta que codifica una esterol C-14 reductasa de planta seleccionada del grupo que consiste en (a) un polinucleótido que tiene una secuencia establecida en la SEQ ID Nº 1, (b) un polinucleótido que tiene una secuencia establecida en la SEQ ID Nº 4, y (c) un polinucleótido que tiene una secuencia establecida en la SEQ ID Nº 6, en donde el ARN bicatenario inhibe la expresión del polinucleótido objeto.Compositions of double stranded RNA and transgenic plants capable of inhibiting the expression of plant genes and methods associated therewith. Claim 1: An isolated expression vector characterized in that it encodes a double stranded RNA comprising a first chain and a second chain complementary to the first chain, wherein the first chain is substantially identical to at least 19, 20 or 21 consecutive nucleotides of a white plant polynucleotide encoding a selected plant C-14 reductase sterol from the group consisting of (a) a polynucleotide having a sequence established in SEQ ID No. 1, (b) a polynucleotide having a sequence established in SEQ ID No. 4, and (c) a polynucleotide having an established sequence in SEQ ID No. 6, where double stranded RNA inhibits expression of the target polynucleotide.
