Abstract

Un dispositivo oftálmico implantable, tal como una lente intraocular, incluye dos o más aberturas cuyos tamaños, formas y posiciones se fijan con respecto al dispositivo en sí mismo. Cada una de estas aberturas estáticas replica un haz de imagen incidente como un haz de imagen desplazado, en el que la dirección y magnitud del desplazamiento dependen de la posición de la abertura estática con respecto al eje óptico del dispositivo. El dispositivo también incluye un elemento prismático acoplado de manera óptica a cada abertura estática. Cada elemento prismático recibe el haz de imagen desplazado a partir de su abertura estática correspondiente y refracta el haz de imagen desplazado de tal modo que los haces refractados resultantes forman una única imagen en el plano de imagen (retina). De forma conjunta, las aberturas estáticas y los elementos prismáticos aumentan la profundidad de campo efectiva del dispositivo (por ejemplo, en hasta tres dioptrías).
