Abstract
Se proporciona una lente intraocular plegable secundaria, IOL, (2) que es implantada quirúrgicamente además de al menos una IOL primaria (1) en el ojo pseudofáquico del paciente. La IOL secundaria (2) es arreglada ópticamente coaxial a la IOL primaria (1) para producir una imagen combinada sobre la retina (5) del ojo del paciente (4) amplificando adicionalmente al menos una parte central de la imagen de la IOL primaria (1) protegida sobre la mácula (6) de la retina (5). La IOL secundaria (2) comprende uno o más hápticas (7) para fijar y estabilizar ésta dentro del surco ciliar (8) del ojo del paciente (4), y una porción ópticamente activa (9) diseñada para proyectar la imagen a través de la IOL primaria (1) sobre la retina (5). La porción ópticamente activa (9) de la IOL secundaria (2) comprende una porción óptica central (10) y una porción óptica periférica (11) que se extiende alrededor de la porción óptica central (10), formando dos lentes diferentes, pero colocadas coaxialmente sobre un bloque. La porción óptica central (10) es diseñada para formar una lente positiva que proporcione refracción adicional mínima de 5D, hasta un máximo de 25D a la refracción proporcionada por la porción óptica periférica (11) de la IOL secundaria (2).
