Abstract
Un aparato y método para la indicacion y la localizacion de fallas en una Red optica Pasiva (PON) que comprende un divisor de potencia multietapa (100, 200, 300) con por lo menos un divisor de 1:N (120, 221, 222, 321, 322) seguido por N ítems de divisores de 2:M (131, 132, 231-233, 331-336), en donde N y M son enteros mayores que 1. El aparato comprende también un dispositivo de Reflectometría optica en el Dominio de Tiempo (OTDR) (110, 210, 310) capaz de insertar una senal OTDR en el divisor de potencia (100, 200, 300), y adaptado para insertar la senal OTDR entre la primer etapa del por lo menos un divisor de 1:N (120, 221, 222, 321, 322) y los segundos N ítems de divisores de 2:M (131, 132, 231-233, 331-336).
