Abstract
En la codificacion y decodificacion de video, es posible generar predicciones mediante la prediccion intra-cuadro. La prediccion intra-cuadro utiliza pixeles reconstruidos en un cuadro reconstruido. La prediccion intra-cuadro se lleva a cabo extendiendo los pixeles reconstruidos en un bloque predicho mediante el uso de modos de prediccion intra-cuadro, indicando cada modo de prediccion intra-cuadro, una direccion de la extension. A efectos de reducir la cantidad de modos posibles de prediccion intra-cuadro, se selecciona un subconjunto de entre un conjunto predeterminado de posibles modos de prediccion intra-cuadro. Es posible crear un subconjunto de modos de prediccion intra-cuadro mediante la formacion de conjuntos de preseleccion de modos de prediccion intra-cuadro sobre la base de la similitud de sus bloques predichos asociados y la seleccion de un modo de prediccion intra-cuadro representativo a partir de cada conjunto de preseleccion.
