Abstract
La presente invencion, en un aspecto, proporciona un producto oftálmico que comprende un envase sellado el cual incluye una solucion de envasado y una lente de contacto de hidrogel blanda, donde la lente de contacto de hidrogel comprende una matriz polimérica y un material huésped el cual no es covalentemente ligado a la matriz polimérica aunque distribuido allí, donde la lente de contacto de hidrogel tiene una capacidad de liberar gradualmente el material huésped durante el uso durante al menos aproximadamente 6 horas después de almacenamiento en la solucion de envasado durante por lo menos aproximadamente un mes, donde la lente de contacto de hidrogel es producida por moldeo por fundicion en un molde de una composicion propolimérica comprende el material huésped y un prepolímero actínicamente entrecruzable del cual se forma la matriz polimérica mediante polimerizacion, donde el material huésped está libre de cualquier grupo capaz de ser térmica o actínicamente entrecruzado con el prepolímero actínicamente entrecruzable y presente en una cantidad suficiente para ser liberado de la lente de contacto durante al menos aproximadamente 6 horas de tiempo de uso.
