Abstract
La presente trata de homologos de galactinol sintetasa en palntas, también construcciones recombinantes para usar en la alteracion de la expresion de genes endogenos que codifican galactinol sintetasa y modular el nivel de sacáridos de rafinosa en células vegetales. Reivindicacion 1: Un polinucleotido aislado caracterizado porque comprende: (a) una secuencia de nucleotidos que codifica un polipéptido que tiene actividad de galactinol sintetasa, donde el polipéptido tiene una secuencia de aminoácidos con al menos 85% de identidad, cuando se la compara con una de SEQ ID No. 2 o 4, o 95% de identidad cuando se la compara con una de SEQ ID No. 6, sobre la base del método de alineamiento Clustal V, (b) la totalidad o una parte del polinucleotido aislado que comprende (a), para usar en la co-supresion o la supresion antisentido de secuencias de ácidos nucleicos endogenas que codifican polipéptidos que tienen actividad de galactinol sintetasa, o (c) un complemento de la secuencia de nucleotidos de (a) o (b), donde el complemento y la secuencia de nucleotidos consisten en la misma cantidad de nucleotidos y son 100% complementarios.
