Abstract
Un proceso para el tratamiento o eliminación de impurezas, tales como arsénico, antimonio o bismuto, generadas en forma de subproductos durante la fundición y refinado de los concentrados de cobre, que comprende someter los subproductos a oxidación por presión junto con un concentrado de cobre en un proceso de extracción hidrometalúrgica de cobre o el tratamiento de impurezas cuando están presentes en un concentrado sometiendo el concentrado a un proceso de extracción hidrometalúrgica. Reivindicación 1: Un método para tratar un subproducto a partir de un proceso de fundición o refinado de cobre, conteniendo este subproducto un elemento seleccionado del grupo que consiste de As, Sb, Bi y Hg, comprendiendo las etapas de: someter una mena o concentrado de cobre que también contienen hierro y una fuente de iones de bisulfato o sulfato a oxidación por presión a una temperatura elevada y presión en presencia de oxígeno y una solución ácida conteniendo iones de haluro; y someter dicho subproducto a oxidación por presión junto con dicha mena o concentrado para obtener una suspensión resultante de oxidación por presión conteniendo cobre y un compuesto de dicho elemento. Reivindicación 17: Un método para tratar una mena o concentrado de cobre que contiene también fluoruro, comprendiendo las etapas de: someter la mena o concentrado, junto con una fuente de iones de bisulfato o sulfato, a oxidación por presión a una temperatura elevada y presión en presencia de oxígeno y una solución ácida conteniendo iones de haluro, siendo los iones de haluro seleccionado del grupo que consiste de iones de cloruro e iones de bromuro, para obtener una suspensión resultante de oxidación por presión; someter la suspensión a una etapa de separación líquido/sólido para obtener un filtrado resultante de oxidación por presión y un residuo sólido; y reciclar en forma continua el filtrado de oxidación por presión a la oxidación por presión, para solubilizar de este modo el fluoruro hasta una concentración por saturación en el filtrado de oxidación por presión, para establecer una condición de equilibrio con lo cual no se presenta una disolución neta adicional de fluoruro y sustancialmente todo el fluoruro en la mena o concentrado va al residuo sólido.
