Abstract

Reivindicación 1: Una semilla de soja, caracterizada porque presenta una composición de aceites que comprende entre 55 y 75% en peso de ácido oleico, entre 10 y 30% en peso de ácido linoleico, 4% o menos en peso de ácido linolénico y 6% o menos en peso de ácidos grasos saturados. Reivindicación 2: La semilla de soja de la cláusula 1, caracterizada porque dicha semilla comprende una molécula de ácido nucleico recombinante, donde dicha molécula comprende un primer conjunto de secuencias de ADN que, cuando se expresa en una célula huésped, tiene la capacidad de suprimir la expresión endógena de al menos dos genes seleccionados del grupo formado por los genes FAD2, FAD3 y FATB y un segundo conjunto de secuencias de ADN que, cuando se expresa en una célula huésped, tiene la capacidad de incrementar la expresión endógena de al menos un gen seleccionado del grupo formado por un gen de b-cetoacil-ACP sintetasa I, un gen de b-cetoacil-ACP sintetasa IV y un gen de d-9-desaturasa. Reivindicación 8: Aceite derivado de la semilla de soja de la cláusula 2, caracterizado porque dicho aceite presenta un contenido reducido de ácidos grasos saturados, un contenido reducido de ácidos grasos poliinsaturados y un mayor contenido de ácido oleico con relación a un aceite derivado de las semillas de una planta de antecedentes genéticos similares pero que no contiene la molécula de ácido nucleico recombinante. Reivindicación 11: Una semilla de soja caracterizada porque presenta una composición de aceites que comprende entre 69 y 73% en peso de ácido oleico, entre 21 y 24% en peso de ácido linoleico, entre 0,5 y 3% en peso de ácido linolénico y 2-3% en peso de ácidos grasos saturados. Reivindicación 12: Un aceite de soja crudo, caracterizado porque presenta una composición de aceites que comprende entre 55 y 75% en peso de ácido oleico, entre 10 y 30% en peso de ácido linoleico, 4% o menos en peso de ácido linolénico y 6% o menos en peso de ácidos grasos saturados. Reivindicación 17: Una planta de soja transformada portadora de semillas, caracterizada porque dichas semillas presentan una composición de aceites que comprende entre 55 y 75% en peso de ácido oleico, entre 10 y 30% en peso de ácido linoleico, 4% o menos en peso de ácido linolénico y 6% o menos en peso de ácidos grasos saturados. Reivindicación 18: La planta de soja transformada de la cláusula 17, caracterizada porque dicha planta de soja transformada comprende una molécula de ácido nucleico recombinante que comprende: un primer conjunto de secuencias de ADN que, cuando se expresa en una célula huésped, tiene la capacidad de suprimir la expresión endógena de un gen de FAD2 y un gen de FAD3 y un segundo conjunto de secuencias de ADN que, cuando se expresa en una célula huésped, tiene la capacidad de incrementar la expresión endógena de al menos un gen seleccionado del grupo formado por un gen de b-cetoacil-ACP sintetasa I, un gen de b-cetoacil-ACP sintetasa IV y un gen de d-9-desaturasa. Reivindicación 27: Un método para alterar la composición de aceites de una célula vegetal, caracterizado porque comprende: (A) transformar una célula vegetal con una molécula de ácido nucleico recombinante que comprende un primer conjunto de secuencias de ADN que, cuando se expresa en una célula huésped, tiene la capacidad de suprimir la expresión endógena de al menos dos genes seleccionados del grupo formado por los genes FAD2, FAD3 y FATB y un segundo conjunto de secuencias de ADN que, cuando se expresa en una célula huésped, tiene la capacidad de incrementar la expresión endógena de al menos un gen seleccionado del grupo formado por un gen de b-cetoacil-ACP sintetasa I, un gen de b-cetoacil-ACP sintetasa IV y un gen de d-9-desaturasa; y (B) cultivar dicha célula vegetal bajo condiciones que permitan la transcripción de dicho primer conjunto de secuencias de ADN y dicho segundo conjunto de secuencias de ADN, con lo cual se altera la composición de aceites con relación a una célula vegetal de antecedentes genéticos similares pero que no contiene la molécula de ácido nucleico recombinante. Reivindicación 36: Una molécula de ácido nucleico recombinante, caracterizada porque comprende: un primer conjunto de secuencias de ADN que, cuando se expresa en una célula huésped, tiene la capacidad de suprimir la expresión endógena de al menos dos genes seleccionados del grupo formado por los genes FAD2, FAD3 y FATB; y un segundo conjunto de secuencias de ADN que, cuando se expresa en una célula huésped, tiene la capacidad de incrementar la expresión endógena de al menos un gen seleccionado del grupo formado por un gen de b-cetoacil-ACP sintetasa I, un gen de b-cetoacil-ACP sintetasa IV y un gen de d-9-desaturasa.
