Abstract
Soluciones de lágrimas artificiales mejoradas. Una solución de lágrimas artificiales mejorada, que comprende: una combinación de tres emolientes en una cantidad de 0,5 a 5,0% en p/v, incluyendo dicha combinación HPMC, un dextrano y glicerina; un complejo de borato/poliol en una cantidad de 0,5 a 6,0 % en peso; una cantidad efectiva de un conservante antimicrobiano; y agua. Las soluciones preferentemente también contienen uno o más electrolitos y un surfactante no iónico. Se define el uso de dichas soluciones para la fabricación de un medicamento que proveen alivio ocular y son especialmente útiles en pacientes que están experimentando una sequedad de leve a moderada u otra irritación de la córnea. Las soluciones son formuladas de modo de contener concentraciones muy bajas de conservantes antimicrobianos y consecuentemente pueden ser aplicadas frecuentemente al ojo con poco riesgo de irritación ocular atribuible a los conservantes.
