Abstract

Se describen solventes que se pueden usar para extraer polímeros que están formados por monómeros hidrofílicos e hidrofóbicos. Los monómeros hidrofóbicos tienen una solubilidad limitada en mezclas de alcohol y agua, como también en algunos solventes orgánicos. Se soluciona este y otros problemas al proveer un método para extraer polímeros curados que comprenden monómeros hidrofóbicos e hidrofílicos, donde el método comprende las etapas de tratar al polímero curado con un solvente de extracción, el cual cuando es medido a 25°C (a) dilata al polímero curado entre alrededor del 0% y alrededor del 50%, y (b) tiene Parámetros de Solubilidad Hansen dentro de los siguientes rangos: deltaH = alrededor de [deltaHpolímero curado + 2,5] y alrededor de [deltaHpolímero curado - 8,5], deltaP = alrededor de [deltaPpolímero curado + 0,5] y alrededor de [deltaPpolímero curado - 4,0], y deltaD = alrededor de [deltaDpolímero curado + 2,5] y alrededor de [deltaDpolímero curado - 2,0].
