Abstract

A master processor (202M, 302T) sends a clock configuration message (500) to the processors, the clock configuration message includes a reference time of the master clock (506) and a system frame reference number (504). Receiving processors which receive the clock configuration message re-synchronize their respective slave clocks using the master clock reference time and the system frame reference number. In one mode, the clock configuration message instructs the receiving processors to configure their respective slave clocks with the reference time of the master clock after being obtained by the receiving processors of the system frame reference number. In another mode, the clock configuration message warns the receiving processors of a real master clock time in the system frame reference number, thereby enabling the receiving processor to calculate an adjusted slave clock time.
