Abstract

La presente invencion se relaciona con composiciones de almidon las cuales contienen almidon y aditivos. El almidon tiene un peso promdio de peso molecularque varía desde aproximadamente 1,000 hasta aproximadamente 2,000,000. Los aditivos pueden ser plastificantes o diluyentes. La composicion que contiene elalmidon y el aditivo se forma por medio de hacer pasar la composicion a través de un troquel para producir fibras, espumas o películas. Estas composicionestienen una viscosidad extensional en el intervalo desde aproximadamente 50 hasta aproxiamdamente 20,000 pascal segundos. Las composiciones de almidonpreferiblmente contienen un polimero que es sustancialmente compatible con el almidon y que tiene un peso promedio de peso molecular de p or lo menos 500,00.
