Abstract

Moldeos oftálmicos, especialmente lentes de contacto, que se pueden obtener mediante la reticulacion, en un moldeo oftálmico, de un prepolímero que es elproducto de la copolimerizacion de: (a) cuando menos un glicol de polialquileno dela formula: HO-(CH2CH2-O)n-(CHY1-CHY2-O)m-(CHY3-CHY4-O)p-Ho formula HO-[(CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-O-]p-H; (b) cuando menos un compuestos de polihidroxi seleccionado a partir del grupo que consiste en:(i) un compuestode polihidroxi alifático lineal o ramificado de la formula: R1-(OH)x o un poliol de poliéter o un poliol de poliéster derivado del mismo, y (ii) unpoliol cicloalifático seleccionado a partir del grupo de polihidroxi- cicloalcano de 5 a 8 átomos de carbono y mono- o di-sacárido insustituido; (c)cuando menos un di- o poli-isocianato de la formula: R2-(NCO)y; (d) cuando menos un monoisocianato etilénicamente insaturado de la formula (4) o unhaluro de ácido etilénicamente insaturado de la formula (4) y opcionalmente otros monomeros copolimerizables, en donde las variables tienen lossignificados dados en las reivindicaciones, en ausencia o en la presencia de un comonomero vinílico adicional. La reticulacion se lleva a cabo en formaventajosa en una solucion acuosa o libre de solvente. Los prepolímeros adecuados para la manufactura de los moldeos y su preparacion representan unobjetivo adicional de la invencion.
