Abstract

Un proceso para la reducción de la viscosidad de alimentaciones de hidrocarburos ácidos que tienen un número total de ácidos (TAN) superior a 2mg. KOH/gm, comprende el tratamiento termal de la alimentación en una zona de tratamiento, a unatemperatura de por lo menos 204°C, durante un período detiempo suficiente como para reducir substancialmente el nivel de TAN, y para eliminar productos de reacción gaseosos de manera de reducir la viscosidad.
