El promotor ALS3 Brassica se encuentra ligado en forma operativa a un gen estructural externo para proporcionar una expresión del gen estructural enplantas transformadas de alto nivel, y generalmente constitutiva o general del tejido. El promotorALS3 Brassica exhibe una forma de expresión preferida node tejido a un nivel comparable con, y en algunos casos mayor que, el promotor CaMV 35S que es ampliamente utilizado. De acuerdo con ello, las construccionesde ADN que comprende el promotor ALS3 Brassica ligado en forma operativa a cualquier número de diferentes regiones de codificación de genes pueden serutilizadas para la expresión constitutiva y general del tejido del gen en plantas transformadas.
