Abstract

Una cubierta para cables que comprende: (a) por lo menos dos partes de alojamiento que, en uso, son cerradas una contra otra y que cuando estáncerradas, proveer una cavidad para contener material sellador, y a través de la cual uno o más cablespuede(n) extenderse al interior de la cubierta; (b)material sellador contenido en la cavidad al cerrarse las partes de alojamiento y que provee un sello entre el o los cable(s) y las partes de alojamiento; y(c) por lo menos un miembro elástico que,e n uso, esta contenido en la cavidad, con lo cual, al cerrarse las partes de alojamiento, una contra la otra, el ocada miembro elástico es comprimido y debido a su elasticidad, aplica una fuerza compresiva al material sellador; (d) por lomenos un miembro selladoralargado, en uso, sella entre las caras de bordes opuesto de las partes de alargamiento y que también hace contacto con el material sellador contenido enla cavidad, y una porción del miembro sellador alargadoconsistente en po r lo menos alrededor de un tercio del área de la sección transversal del mismo,sobresale transversalmente dentro de la cavidad, y sustancialmente toda la periferia de dicha porción hace contacto sellante con el materialselladdorcontenido en l a cavidad.
