Abstract

Bifenylylkinuklidinforbindelser med formel I: og farmasøytisk akseptable salter derav; hvor R1 er hydrogen eller hydroksy; R2 er hydrogen; eller R1 og R2 er knyttet sammen slik at CR^CR2 er en dobbeltbinding; og den ene av, eller både ring A og ring B eventuelt kan være usubstituert eller uavhengig substituert med en eller flere substituenter valgt fra halogen, hydroksy, amino, nitro, cyano, karboksy, karbamoyl, (l-6C)alkyl, (l-6C)alkoksy, (l-6C)alkylamino, di- [(l-6C)alkyl]amino, N-[(l-6C)alkyl]karbamoyl, N,N-di-[(l- 6C)alkyl]karbamoyl, (l-6C)alkoksykarbonyl, (1-6CJalkyltio, (1- 6C)alkylsulfinyl, (l-6C)alkylsulfonyl og halogen-(l-6C)alkyl; er inhibitorer av skvalensyntase og er således anvendelige ved behandling av sykdommer eller medisinske tilstander som hyper- kolesterolemi, aterosklerose og soppsykdommer. Fremgangsmåter for anvendelse av disse forbindelsene for behandling av slike tilstander, nye forbindelser, fremgangs- måter for fremstilling av disse forbindelsene og farmasøytiske preparater som inneholder slike, kreves beskyttet.
