Abstract

The panel type heater body has two or more parallel rectangular or square heater plates with side guards of steel plate covering the intervening space but leaving the heat exchange surfaces free. Each guard has top and bottom openings for unions at the corners of the body. Each guard comprises a bottom and a top section, and the bottom opening is a slot, open to the bottom, in the bottom section, which ends below the top union. The top opening is likewise a slot, open to the bottom, in the top section, and the two sections fit one inside the other. The top section can be angular, its horizontal arm resting on the top edges of the heater panels or on a grating covering them.
