The cover rotates between open and closed posns. and has two end plates turning and sliding on stub axles whose centre lines lie along the centre line of the cylinder of which the cover is a segment. Two locks are fitted, one for the open and one for the closed state, and these are detent pins, one fitted to a chain link at the end of the trough, the other on the side plate of the trough at the other end.
