Abstract

La presente invencion proporciona metodos para prevenir o aliviar condiciones simpateticamente realzadas, condiciones neurologicas, condiciones oculares y dolor cronico sin sedacion concomitante al administrar de forma periferica a un sujeto una cantidad efectiva de un agonista selectivo de a-2A/a-1A, que previene o alivia de este modo la condicion o dolor cronico sin sedacion concomitante, donde el agonista selectivo tiene una eficiencia de a-1A, menor que aquella de la brimonidina o una relacion de potencia de a-1A/a-2A mayor que aquella de la brimonidina.
