Abstract
Se pueden obtener catalizadores de rutenio novedosos: i) tratando un material de soporte basado en dioxido de silicio amorfo una o mas veces con una solucion acuosa libre de halogeno de un compuesto de rutenio de bajo peso molecular y subsecuentemente secando el material de soporte tratado a menos de 200¦C, ii) reduciendo el solido obtenido en i) por medio de hidrogeno a de 100 a 350¦C, en donde el paso ii) se lleva a cabo directamente, despues del paso i). Estos catalizadores se pueden utilizar para la hidrogenacion catalitica de monosacaridos y disacaridos para producir alcoholes de azucar, con la excepcion de sorbitol.
