Abstract

When assembled to a building support structure (14) to form a curtain wall system (10) of adjoining panels (11a 11f), a preferred embodiment of the enhanced airloop wall system comprises panel frame segments (18) that, when assembled, form interconnected inner (19, 20) and outer (21) airloop segments that separate and improve water seal (24) and air seal (25) functions and improve sealing performance, a circuitous path at an enlarged air opening (23) into an airloop to pressure equalize and limit water entry to the airloop, a two point fastener (34) support of each panel assembly to allow interfloor deflections under seismic or other loads without excessive loads on the panel assembly, a structural hook like protrusion (14a) for resisting building outward loads on panels separate from fasteners, a splitter (18a) in a drainage cavity (35) in the outer airloop that creates a dual drainage path.
