Abstract

En un aparato para auxilio ventricular izquierdo (LVAD) una bomba de sangre rotodinamica (10) se energiza mediante un motor de CD sin escobillas (12) Una fuente de energia (14) suministra la energfa al motor (12). Tres canales de realimentacion, uno para el voltaje, la corriente y la velocidad del motor conducen a un microcontrolador o microprocesador (18). Se analizan las tres formas de onda de realimentacion, y a partir de estas formas de onda se determina la energia de entrada del motor, la frecuencia cardiaca del paciente, la velocidad de flujo actual de la bomba y la presion sistemica. Luego, el microprocesador (18) calcula una velocidad de flujo deseada, proporcional a la frecuencia cardiaca del paciente. El microprocesador comunica una nueva salida de energia a un circuito de comunicacion (161, el cual regula la energia al motor (12). La bomba (10) tambien incluye comprobaciones de seguridad que se hacen prioritarias sobre el flujo que se desea de la bomba.
