Abstract

La invencion se refiere a una lamina de catodo la como parte constitutiva de un arreglo de catodos para una pila de electrolisis para la obtencion electrolitica de metales puros, especialmente cobre. La lamina de catodos la esta provista con una proteccion de cantos, en sus bordes laterales 2a dirigidos verticalmente en la pileta de electrolisis, con una proteccion de canto 3 que entra en contacto con el electrolito, proteccion que consiste de un material ceramico. La proteccion de canto 3 es aislante electricamente, hermetica en poros y resistente al electrolito. Las interrupciones de canto cortante 5 y los cantos de corte de catodo exterior 4 estan totalmente cubiertos con la proteccion de canto 3. De esta manera, se impiden o disminuyen las concentraciones de lineas de campo en esos lugares.
