Abstract

Un método para la agitacion electromagnética del metal líquido (14) en hornos de arco eléctrico de corriente directa, que comprenden una cámara de fusion (35) definida por un piso (13) y por paredes laterales (15), incluyendo los hornos de arco eléctrico de cátodo central (11) que coopera con ánodos (12) configurados sobre el piso (13) del horno, y alimentados por una corriente principal (I0), en donde hay un sistema electromagnético que genera un campo magnético adentro del metal líquido (14) cuyos componentes vertical (Bz) y radial (Br) interactuan respectivamente con los componentes radial (Jr) y vertical (Jz) de la corriente global presente en el metal líquido (14), utilizando el método un primer sistema electromagnético que comprende cuando menos una primera bobina (19) a través de la cual fluye una corriente (I1), y que opera desde adentro del piso (13) y las paredes (15) de la cámara de fusion (35), y un segundo sistema electromagnético que genera una corriente inducida secundaria (I3), entre losánodos adyacentes (12), que circula a través del metal líquido (14). Un dispositivo para lograr el método anterior, y que consiste en una primera bobina (19) a través de la cual fluye una corriente (I1), comprendiendo la primera bobina (19) una pluralidad de espirales (20), configurándose cuando menos algunas de las aspirales (20) adentro del refractario de la cámara de fusion (35) en cooperacion con el piso (13) y con cuando menos un segmento vertical de las paredes laterales (15).
