Abstract
Esta invencion se relaciona con un proceso para la preparacion de ácidos orto-sulfocarboxílicos, el cual comprende a) en un primer paso de reaccion, diazotizar un ácido orto-aminosulfonico aromático en presencia de un ácido y nitrito en agua, en un solvente orgánico o en una mezcla de los mismos, a un sulfonato de orto-diazonio, y, b) en un segundo paso de reaccion, hacer reaccionar el sulfonato de orto-diazonio en presencia de un catalizador de paladio en agua, en un solvente orgánico o en una mezcla de los mismos, un monoxido de carbono, bajo presion excesiva, a un ácido-sulfocarboxílico aromático. La invencion también se relaciona con un proceso para la preparacion de sulfonilureas usando ácidos orto-sulfocarboxílicos como intermediarios.
