Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un catalizador para la producción de óxido de etileno, el cual comprende un portador de alfa-alúmina, que tiene la superficie del mismo, y la superficie de los poros del mismo revestidos con una mezcla de silica-aluimina amorfa, que tienen un total de contenido de Si y Al, en la escala de 3 x 10 a la menos cuarta potencia a 2 x 10 a la menos uno g/g del portador y una proporción de Si/Al, en la escala de 0.05 a 50.0 g/g, 5 a 25 por peso basado en el catalizador terminado de partículas de plata metálica pequeña y de 0.0001 a 0.05 gramos equivalentes en peso por Kg., del catalizador terminado de cesio.
