Abstract
Se describe una turbina eólica que utiliza energía del aire que se mueve relativamente hacia la turbina para concentrar e incrementar la velocidad del aire que entra en un paso de flujo de aire de entrada de la turbina. El paso de flujo de aire descarga aire concentrado y acelerado a palas de un rotor donde las palas del rotor interactúan con ese aire para hacer girar el rotor. El movimiento del rotor se puede utilizar para accionar un generador eléctrico. El plano de rotación del rotor puede estar sustancialmente en ángulos rectos con respecto al plano de la abertura de entrada de paso. Unos deflectores en el paso de flujo y unas aspas de estator adyacentes a las palas del rotor provocan que el flujo de masa del aire acelerado sea sustancialmente uniforme y sea dirigido de manera deseable a través del área de las palas del rotor. La turbina es compacta y funciona silenciosa.
