Abstract

Un método de elaboración de micropolvos de fluoropolímero con bajo contenido de especies perfluoroalquilantes (PFAS), tal como ácido perfluorooctanoico (PFOA). El método incluye aplicar un tratamiento térmico, a una temperatura de 125°C a 300°C en una atmósfera sustancialmente libre de oxígeno y/o en un reactor de lecho fluidizado, a un fluoropolímero perfluorado irradiado o degradado térmicamente. El método también puede incluir micronizar el intermediario del fluoropolímero de peso molecular bajo tratado térmicamente para proporcionar un micropolvo.
