Abstract
Se describe una lente que tiene propiedades antioxidantes, así como métodos de fabricación de la misma. La lente de contacto puede estar presente en un empaque de lente de contacto sellado. El empaque de lente de contacto sellado puede incluir al menos a) un miembro de base de plástico que tiene una cavidad; b) una solución de envasado de lente de contacto en la cavidad; c) una lente de contacto estéril, sin usar inmersa en la solución de envasado de lente de contacto en la cavidad; y d) una cubierta que forma un sello hermético con el miembro de base de plástico. Como ejemplo, la lente de contacto sin usar es una lente de contacto de hidrogel de silicona que tiene presente en ella vitamina E. La vitamina E no es liberable de la lente de contacto sin usar y la solución de envasado de lente de contacto tiene menos de 1 ppm de vitamina E presente. La vitamina E queda atrapada, incrustada, absorbida o unida de forma no covalente en la lente de contacto sin usar.
