Abstract

La invención se refiere a una composición de recubrimiento retardante de fuego a base de agua, no intumescente que comprende: (a) al menos una resina aglutinante que tiene grupos funcionales reactivos que comprenden tanto grupos hidroxilo como carboxílico, en donde la resina aglutinante tiene un valor de ácido menor que 40 mg de KOH/g de resina en sólidos y un valor de OH mayor que 30 mg de KOH/g de resina en sólidos, (b) un reticulante, capaz de reaccionar con al menos algunos de los grupos funcionales de la resina aglutinante (a), en donde el reticulante contiene una funcionalidad de carbodiimida, y (c) al menos un retardante de fuego. El recubrimiento resultante tiene una buena adhesión a una variedad de sustratos, vida útil prolongada, y cumple con los requisitos de resistencia de fuego en la industria aérea.
